A bird feeder should be a welcome stop—not a place where mold, old seed, and droppings build up. The good news is that a dependable cleaning routine takes less time than you might think, and it is one of the most useful things you can do for the birds in your yard.

Why feeder cleaning matters

Old seed, damp hulls, droppings, and debris can create unhealthy conditions at a feeder.
